Kangana Ranaut never shies away from speaking what’s on her mind. The actress has time and again given out statements that land her in controversy. Recently, Kangana stated that Alia Bhatt’s performance was ‘mediocre’. When the interviewer compared her performance in Manikarnika with Alia’s performance in Gully Boy, the actress said, “I am embarrassed…What is there to beat in Gully Boy Performance ….same snappy muh phat girl… Bollywood’s idea of a fiery girl, woman empowerment and good acting, spare me this embarrassment, please. Media has taken filmy kids love too far…stop pampering mediocre work or else bar will never be raised.”
Alia Bhatt, who currently is busy with the promotions of Kalank, was asked about her reaction to Kangana’s statement. The actress said, “I respect Kangana’s work a lot and I respect her opinion. If she feels a particular way she must have reason to feel that way. I would rather remember how much she had praised me after watching Raazi. And I’d just like to focus on my work. Maybe she will appreciate me again if I work hard enough.”
Alia Bhatt will next be seen in Abhishek Varman’s Kalank. The film also stars Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles.
