Amitabh Bachchanâs Twitter account now restored after a hack

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s Twitter account got hacked last night by Ayyildiz Tim, which claimed to be a Turkish hacker group. The hackers replaced the actor’s profile picture with Pakistan’s current Prime Minister and former cricket captain Imran Khan. The hacker also changed his bio by adding, “Love Pakistan” and emoji of the Turkish flag.

A leading daily got in touch with a spokesperson from Mumbai Police who confirmed that the cyber unit is currently investigating the case. The cover photo of Bachchan’s account, which has now been deleted, was a picture of the group with an eagle. The first tweet from the hacker on Bachchan’s account read, “This is an important call to the whole world! We do condemn the irrespective behaviors of Iceland republic towards Turkish footballers. We speak softly but carry a big stick and inform you about the big Cyber attack here. As Ayyildiz Tim Turkish Cyber Army.” The hacker also later tweeted a link to their ‘official’ Instagram page. The Twitter account was restored within half-an-hour.

Amitabh Bachchan’s account is not the first victim to the activities of the hacker group. They have previously hacked accounts of Bollywood celebrities like Anupam Kher and more recently Shahid Kapoor.
