In the last decade, if there’s one director who brought a change in the industry and showed us an authentic world at the movies it is Anurag Kashyap. He chose gritty and real themes and also inspired other filmmakers to tell stories which are unusual and without happy endings.
Anurag Kashyap was earlier a part of Phantom Films, a company backed by his friends Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl, Madhu Matena and him. He dissolved the banner in 2018. He has now launched his new production company, Good Bad Films. The director shared the news on social media, along with a sweet caption and the logo. The logo has two faces representing the good and the bad side. His caption read, ‘So here it is .. our new company @goodbadfilmsofficial. Introducing the good, the bad and the films of the @goodbadfilms on the Monday of the release of our first production #chokedpaisaboltahai on @netflix_in . @jagasiadhruv in black and white and @akshaythakker. My two pillars of support. Only thing I can’t figure out is which one of my two producers is good and who is bad .. so leaving it to you all to decide .. let’s have fun #chokedpaisaboltahai releasing June 5th.’
The director’s post invited several comments from industry folks wishing him luck for his new venture. Right from Abhishek Bachchan to Huma Qureshi, all dropped congratulatory wishes and comments. Anurag Kashyap’s next is the Netflix film Choked, which stars Saiyami Kher and Roshan Matthew. The quirky trailer is getting a good response. It seems different from the films Anurag has helmed before.
