In 2012 Salman Khan shook the box-office (like he always does) with his Eid blockbuster) with YRF’s Ek Tha Tiger. In 2017 the makers turned it into a franchise with Tiger Zinda Hai and now we hear that YRF is gearing up for the third installment. According to a leading daily, tthe makers have roped in a new director to helm the film.
While Ek Tha Tiger was directed by Kabir Khan, Tiger Zinda Hai was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and now YRF has signed on Maneesh Sharma of Band Baaja Baaraat fame for the third installment. The director will collaborate for the first time with Salman Khan.
According to the daily, Aditya Chopra wanted a new director to take the franchise ahead. A source says, “Adi sir wants a new director for every edition so that it has a distinct voice. The producer has finalised Maneesh as he believes he will bring a new dimension to the actioner. Adi sir and Jaideep Sahni have developed the story and screenplay. It is expected to be Salman Khan’s biggest film in terms of scale, and will be shot across various countries.”
Both the installments starred Katrina Kaif opposite Salman Khan. We wonder if the leading lady will be the same this time too. YRF is planning to offcially announce the film on the late Yash Chopra’s birth anniversary which falls on September 27. The production house will also announce its other big projects on the same day.
