Deepika Padukone’s first home production film, Chhapaak’s trailer is out today and it’s been getting amazing response across from the viewers. The actress unveiled the trailer at an event in Mumbai today, where she spoke about naming her production company, KA, which are the last alphabets of her name Deepika which means soul. She hopes that she will leave behind the kind of work which will be remembered with the films she produces in the future.
When the actress was asked about her plans with the production house, she clearly stated that she is not in hurry to make a lot of films. She will be looking at the quality of work. She stated, “I don’t want us to produce a slate like we have a line-up, so many films coming up. I want the process to be as honest as my process has been as an actor while I was choosing scripts. That’s going to be the process. Again, I don’t want to sit here and sound like some experienced producer because I am not. I’m here to learn. I’m here to facilitate and imbibe and wherever I can add value, I’m here to do that. I’m not going to pretend that I know everything. I’m sure I’ll make mistakes along the way but the intent is to tell stories in the same way or choose the film that we do in the same way as I have done as an actor so far.”
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi. Deepika will be seen portraying Malti on the big screen. She mentioned that this is a very special film for her. The film is slated to release on January 10, 2020.
