Deepika Padukone taking over the post production of 83 is fake news

It seems to be the season of rumours. A false story doing the rounds is that of Deepika Padukone taking over the post- production for ’83 after Shibasish Sarkar, the CEO of Reliance Entertainment, which is producing the cricket film, tested positive for COVID-19. The rumours have been abuzz for a while now, ever since Sarkar has been hospitalised.

However none of it is true. Putting all the rumours to the rest, a source close to the Kabir Khan directorial, starring Ranveer Singh, informed, “In times of COVID-19, when all of us should be wishing each other well, a false and insensitive story has been done. Deepika Padukone, as a producer, like all producers of ’83 is an integral part of the project. But when a film has a highly able director like Kabir Khan, who is dedicatedly looking into this post production, where is the need for anyone else to do anything?”

Ranveer Singh essays legendary cricketer Kapil Dev’s role in the film, while Deepika plays his wife, Romi Bhatia. While Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films present ’83, the film is also co-produced by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, Phantom Films, Reliance Entertainment and 83 Film Ltd.

Now this should put all rumours of Deepika taking over the production of ’83 to rest.
