Slumdog Millionaire fame actor, Dev Patel, is all set to make his directorial debut. The 29-year-old is soon going to direct a film. As per reports, the actor is in Mumbai for the next 10 days. Dev is visiting the city for a quick recee and for some research on his first film.
According to reports, Dev’s film is titled Monkey Man. It is set in today’s time and deals with mythology. Dev’s character comes out from prison to enter a world marred by corporate greed and eroding spiritual values. Dev has co-written the script with Paul Angunawela and John Collee. Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk is producing it along with Joe Thomas, Samarth Sahni from Xeitgeist and Dev Patel.
Dev was last seen in Hotel Mumbai, which was based on the 26/11 terror attacks that happened in the city. The actor was recently clicked in a suburban hotel in Mumbai. Mithun Chakraborty’s son, Namashi Chakraborty, shared a picture with the Hollywood hunk. Namashi asked for a selfie and the actor obliged him with one. Dev also wished the newbie luck for his debut in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Bad Boy. Dev Patel’s next will be Armando Iannuci’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’ The Personal History of David Copperfield.
