For months now, there have been speculations around Irrfan Khan’s Hindi Medium 2. The actor, who was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour, has now reportedly returned to India from London after undergoing treatment there. It was soon after Irrfan’s return to the country when speculations of him starring in the sequel of Hindi Medium started doing the rounds on the internet.
But recently his friend informed a news portal that the actor is recovering slowly and there’s no possibility of him getting to work anytime soon. The friend reportedly said, “Irrfan is recuperating slowly. He won’t be returning to acting for a while now. The process of healing is slow and exhausting. Even after full recovery, he won’t be allowed to get back to work for at least a year. So there is no question of him doing Hindi Medium 2 or any other film in the immediate future.”
Amidst all this, it’s now the producer of Hindi Medium, Dinesh Vijan, who has come out and addressed all the speculations doing the rounds. He was quoted saying, “Right now, everything is speculation. Irrfan has just come back to town. It’s the script that is ready. Hopefully, in another one month, we’ll have clarity.”
Hindi Medium 2 marks the sequel to the award-winning 2017 release Hindi Medium. The film had starred Irrfan Khan, Saba Qamar and Deepak Dobriyal in important roles.
