Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge released 24 years ago and till today, the film continues to be one of one the most loved and longest running films in Indian cinema. Film’s iconic dialogues and SRK – Kajol’s hit pairing is one of the zillions reasons why we can never really get over DDLJ. Going down the memory lane and talking about the film in his recent interview, SRK revealed what Salman Khan told him 24 years back after watching the film.
SRK said, “I still remember, this was at the premiere of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. I had a couple of friends sitting beside me. There is a scene in the movie where I say ‘Raj agar yeh tujko pyaar karti hai toh palat ke dekhegi. Palat. Palat. Palat.’ And at that point, my friend tells me ‘It looks like you’ll kill her like you killed the girl in Baazigar. If you weren’t in this movie, it would do really well.’ I felt very sad.”
He then added Salman Khan was the first person who found his performance good in the film. The actor said, “The first person outside the production who saw the film and said ‘it’s a great one’ was my friend Salman Khan.”
We aren’t surprised as, like any of us, Salman too had a similar reaction after watching this romantic saga. It was recently when Salman Khan did a cameo in King Khan’s Zero just like SRK did in his film, Tubelight back in 2017.
