Hrithik Roshanâs Super 30 finally gets a release date

Hrithik Roshan’s next project Super 30 has hit many roadblocks so far which have delayed its release.  However, if a report in a leading daily is to be believed, the film has finally locked the date July 12 for its release. If there’s any truth behind these reports, then it seems like the film will now clash with the Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer Jabariya Jodi.

The daily got in touch with a source close to the project. The source stated, “With July 12 being finalized, the film will have a clear run at the box office with competition coming in only from Jabariya Jodi. However, given that both Super 30 and Jabariya Jodi cater to two very different audience bases, neither film will be affected much at the box office.” The film was initially supposed to release on January 26 this year, however when director Vikas Bahl was accused of sexual harassment during the MeToo movement, the date was pushed indefinitely. Later on, the release date was changed again from July 26 to avoid a clash with Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao’s Mental Hai Kya. Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel had accused Hrithik and the team Super 30 of running a PR campaign against Mental Hai Kya. Following this, Hrithik decided to change the release date as a decision to save himself from “personal trauma and toxic mental violence.” He had also said that he did not want Super 30 to be “desecrated by yet another media circus.”

The film is a biopic based on the life of Patna-based mathematician Anand Kumar. Besides Hrithik, Super 30 also stars Mrunal Thakur, Amit Sadh and Nandish Sandhu in pivotal roles.
