National Award winning choreographer Saroj Khan passed away due to cardiac arrest in Mumbai. With a career spanning over four decades, Khan choreographed some of the most memorable songs of Indian cinema. Fondly known as ‘Masterji’, the Bollywood veteran was admitted to Mumbai’s Guru Nanak Hospital on June 20 after she complained of difficulty in breathing.
Mourning the huge loss, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan took to social media to remember the ace choreographer. She also shared an adorable throwback picture from the sets of Jab We Met.
Bebo wrote, “Master ji always told me… perrr nahin chala saktiii toh kam se kam face toh chalaaaaa.
That’s what she taught me… to enjoy dancing, smile and smile through the eyes. There can never be another… Dance and expression can never be the same for us actors and for everyone who loved her…
Love you master ji. Till we dance again… RIP #SarojKhan”
In her illustrious career, Saroj Khan won the National Award thrice, for Yeh Ishq Haye from Jab We Met, Dola Re Dola from Devdas and for a Tamil film Sringaram. She was also the recipient of eight Filmfare Awards for movies like Tezaab, Chaalbaaz, Sailab, Beta, Khal-nayak,Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam, Devdas and Guru.
