Kartik Aaryan’s dialogue from Pati Patni Aur Woh has invited a lot of controversies. The trailer shows Kartik joking about marital rape. This hasn’t gone down well with the netizens who have bashed the actor as well as the makers of the film for being frivolous about such a sensitive issue.
While they have raised their livid opinions on the dialogues, they have asked the film’s leading actresses, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday to take objections against these dialogues. Given this outrage, reports suggest that the dialogue in question will be edited out of the film since it has come across as offensive. Kartik Aaryan plays the role of a man who falls for another woman despite being married. Bhumi Pednekar plays his wife while Ananya Panday will be seen as Woh – the other woman, in their life.
Earlier, at the trailer launch of the film, Bhumi Pednekar had said, “When I read the script, every doubt that I had, flushed out. This film is so much fun. It’s a situational comedy but at the same time, it’s not frivolous. It’s empowering to both the genders. There’s nobody who’s black and white in real life as well. I think the makers have been very conscious to make sure that they do not turn this into a sexist, baseless film.”
This film is a remake of the 1978 film Pati Patni Aur Woh. The film is directed by Mudassar Aziz and is slated to release on December 6.
