Mika Singh banned by AICWA for performing in Pakistan

All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) cracks a whip on Mika Singh. The association has issued an unconditional ban on the singer in the Indian film industry. All this after videos of Mika performing at a wedding in Pakistan surfaced online. Reportedly, Mika was performing in Karachi for a close relative of former Pakistan Prime Minister, Pervez Musharraf on August 8.

Suresh Gupta, the president of AICWA released an official statement saying that the organisation has taken a stand of immediately boycotting all of Mika’s associations with production houses and music companies, and with online content providers.

The organisation has accused Mika of putting money above the nation in a time when tension between both the countries is at the peak. The statement also stated that AICWA workers will make sure that no one in India works with Mika Singh and if anyone does, they will face legal consequences in the court of law.

Reportedly, Gupta has urged Information and Broadcasting Minister, Mr Prakash Javadekar to look into the matter and take legal action against Mika. According to reports, one of India’s most wanted terrorists, Dawood Ibrahim’s relatives were also present at the said event.

After India revoked Article 370 and converted Jammu and Kashmir into a Union Territory with a legislature, and Ladakh, a Union Territory without a legislature, tension has been rising between India and Pakistan. As a result of this decision, Pakistan banned the screening of all Indian films in the country and downgraded all diplomatic ties with India and also suspend bilateral trade.
