The International Emmy Awards is a place where content from all across the globe is acknowledged and appreciated. This time, an anthology by India’s ace filmmakers like Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee made it as a nominee in the category of TV Movie/Mini Series category. Apart from this, Radhika Apte also earned a nomination in the category Best Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in the Netflix film Lust Stories.
We chatted with the actress moments before the big event and asked her about everything that’s going through her mind at the time. Radhika replied saying, “It’s very exciting. It’s very exciting that we’re representing India. We have three nominations and I’m happy that we’re getting recognition due to it. I think it is very important to be recognised for your work. I’m not really stressed about whether I’ll be winning or not. I think being nominated alone is a big achievement and if you don’t win it, then you don’t win. It’s very hard to pick a winner anyway. I met the other actresses and I must admit that they’re so good. In fact, I hadn’t seen any of their films but they saw ours. So, that was a little embarrassing (laughs).” Watch Radhika Apte talk about her state of mind below.
Well, we’re just content with the fact that Indian actors are finally getting their due recognition.
