Yesterday, we saw the trailer of Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal release to mix response on social media. While some loved the freshness of watching Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan’s new pairing, some were disappointed that the film didn’t offer anything original as compared to the prequel with the same title. Now, Sara’s father Saif Ali Khan, who was part of the prequel with Deepika Padukone, shared his take on the trailer.
During an interview with a leading daily, Saif was asked to share his thoughts on the trailer. He said, “I still remember shooting for Love Aaj Kal. I kind of liked my trailer more. So… uh… what to say. But I wish them all the best.” The topic of Sara carrying forward Saif’s legacy with the franchise has been talked about a lot. However, Saif claimed that if anything it’s Imtiaz franchise’s which he’s taking forward. He said, “I don’t think Love Aaj Kal is my legacy at all… I don’t think of it as Sara taking the franchise forward. That’s an interesting thought, which I hadn’t thought before. I think if anything, it’s Imtiaz’s franchise and his legacy that perhaps he is taking forward, I was just a part of it. Sara has my best wishes at all times, and for everything, she’s my daughter. Bless them all and I wish them all the best.”
Saif Ali Khan will next be seen in Jawaani Jaaneman which also stars Tabu and debutante Alaya Furniturewala. The film will is slated to release on January 31 this year.
